The most important thing in a business start-up is a plan. Some of us are very gifted and we can keep everything in our head. We know everything about our business and it is a secret, so we keep it tight. Alternatively we realise how complicated the whole process could be and we write a business plan on the back of an envelope. We even approach a professional and ask for advice which we scrawl this advice on a bit of paper.
Better still many of us have already drafted one or many business plans and keep it in a bottom draw away from prying eyes, including our own eyes. Now is the time to get it out the drawer and dust off our business plan if you have one, or scrawl the basics for such a plan.
